3 am, and a text is received
There’s no name and a message that reads “Hello”
Amber chose to ignore it and went back to sleep
Only for her phone to go off thirty minutes later
She picks up her phone and realizes it's a call from an unknown number. "The fuck?" she says, powering off her phone and slamming it on her pillow.
Now, 6 am, and it’s time for Amber’s morning jog
While running her normal path, she notices something strange in the distance
She stops running, glancing in the distance to try to make out what it is.
As soon as she does, the thing in the distance starts to move closer in her direction
Unsure who or what it is, she decides to turn around and run back
Whatever this thing is, it catches up to her
Knocking her onto the ground
She tries with all her might to fight back but it’s repeatedly hitting her head into the ground
She manages to kick whatever it is in the stomach and take off running again
But it’s too fast for her, way too fast, and she is then plunged into the concrete again
Finally looking into its eye, she realizes it’s…..

...it's not human.
Their glowing red eyes stared back at her
Its skin was as rough as sandpaper but also felt rubbery.
Their skin color was a mixture of red and black.
Once the eye contact was made, the creature let out a deep growl.
It then picked her up, jumped to its feet, and took off running.
The creature's grip tightened as it ran, terrified. Amber tried to release the grasp.
She remembers she has her house key in the pocket of her running shorts.
Reaching into her pocket and pulling the key out, she’s able to place it between her fingers and begins stabbing the creature.
The creature becomes enraged and stops running, briefly tightening his grip. He then throws Amber straight across the running trail.
She’s screaming and flying through the air, she smacked her back right into the trunk of a tree. She rolled around to her chest, and she was then smacked on her side with one of the tree branches that had fallen. She flips backward, landing on her back on the ground.
In a lot of pain and in bad shape, she tries to stand up, but she can’t feel her feet.
“Damn it.” She says, patting her shorts for her phone.
She finds it, and she wants to check if it’s still in one piece. The screen is cracked badly she is unable to see anything on the screen.
“Fuck!” She says, crying, and turns her head.
Remembering it’s a smartphone, and they just added a voice emergency feature, she brings the phone to her face.
“Call 911,” she announces
They respond back, telling her they’re going to call 911. Once she hears the ringing, she passes out from the pain; the last words she hears are the 911 operator asking what the emergency was.
Amber is woken up by the voices that are around her. Taking a look around after opening her eyes she realizes she made it to the hospital. She turns over to a nurse changing her IV bag.
“What happened?” She asks
“We thought we might ask you that question. You were pretty beaten up. I will let the doctor know that you’re awake.” She says walking out of the room.
Instead of the doctor coming into her room a detective enters her room, they let her know that she was attacked and was badly injured on the running trail.
"Do you remember anything that happened?" the doctor asks
Thinking back to the creature that threw her across the trail, she shakes the thought away, knowing that if she says the truth, no one would believe her.
"I don't remember," she stated
"You were in pretty bad shape, do you have any idea who would want to hurt you?"
“No clue.”
“Well, if you remember anything please go ahead and give me a call. We’ll be in touch,” he says handing her his card. Once she's at home she is greeted by her two best friends who have her favorite cake and wine ready for them to kick back and relax. They watched a movie and wanted to know what happened to her that night. She told them she tripped on a branch running and rolled down a hill and into a tree. Her friends didn't really believe her, but who would believe a red creature threw her across the running trail like a rag dog.
The next morning, she decided to try out a new running trail with Karlie, moments into running they notice a dark figure standing on the side of the tree facing their direction.
"FUCK!" Karlie says tripping over a rock
"What happened?" she says helping her up
"There was something over by the tree, did see it?"
"What was it?"
I don't know, but he was just standing there."
The dark figure reappears but is standing right in front of them, they both scream to only realize it's
